March 1815: Bonaparte landed in France, more precisely in the Golfe Juan, to reclaim his throne. It then took one hundred days for Napoleon and his guard to cross Provence and the Alps to reach Grenoble.
In memory of this great epic march, the paths that the Emperor and his followers took have subsequently been called the ‘Napoleon Route'.
Since 1969, the ANERN organisation (Action Nationale des Elus de la Route Napoléon) has helped preserve and promote this prestigious route.
